The Phare Programme - RO 9709 "Cultural Dimension of Democracy"
The Phare Programme Cultural Dimension of Democracy has two components: Institutional Strengthening - Phare RO 9709-01 (1,150,000 euro) and Fund for Development of Arts and Civil Society - Phare RO 9709-02 (Euroart) (850,000 euro).
The wider objectives of the programme were to support the institutional strength and sustainability of Romanian cultural sector, establishing strategies and structures for reform in the administration and financing of cultural institutions and activities, enhancing the role of culture in democratic development, social cohesiveness and economic performance, and developing the linkage of cultural institutions with those of the EU.
The Programme started in March 1999 and it ended in April 2001.
